If you are a fashion-conscious woman, who enjoys luxury and doesn’t mind spending a little more on nice clothes, Matthew Williamson probably is already one of your favourite fashion labels. Brilliant colours, mix of prints which often have an Indian influence characterize the pieces of the British designer.
His collections are presented twice a year during the New Yorker Fashion Week and are popular among celebrities. Stars such as Sienna Miller, Kate Hudson, Keira Kneightley and Gwyneth Paltrow regularly are seen wearing his clothes.
Following stints at Marni and Monsoon Accessorize, Matthew Williamson launched his won label in 1996. After showing his first collection - dubbed “Electric Angels” - using Jade Jagger, Kate Moss and Helen Christensen as runway models, the label has become a favourite among the U.K.s biggest names and jet-setting Yanks. His out of the ordinary and colourful designs stood out from other designer labels. In 2004 the fashion magazine “Elle” named Matthew Williamson the “Designer of the Year“. One year later the designer won the “Moet & Chandon Fashion Tribute Award” and was offered to become Pucci’s creative director.
In the meantime you can find star designer’s collection in many online shops and catalogues. It’s also worth checking out the designer’s website for the latest Matthew Willamson collection.
