Now, those of you that haven’t copped an eyeful of Liz Hurley’s ample bosom are in the minority, and the lucky minority at that. Ever since her appearance in that safety pinned Versace number at the Four Weddings Premiere back in 1994, Hurley has been determined to make an indelible impression on the nation. Not with her acting or any ability in particular, but in a succession of figure-hugging dresses chosen to show off her real assets. And in this silicon age I suppose that is something to be proud of.
Liz took to the spirit of the Breast Cancer Awareness event and showed hers off in the tightest red strapless party dress she could squeeze into, set off with an eruption of ruffled corsage. Was she trying to emulate Julia Roberts’ Pretty Woman dress, perhaps? She may be no stranger to the cleavage, but Hurley looked more strained than strumpet, I thought, in a designer dress a size small for her.
So learn from Liz, don’t suffer for the sake of your taste in party dresses. You need to be able to breathe, and anything squished in too tight will garner more winces than admiring looks. But there are other ways to show your support to the cause rather than getting your baps out Liz. After all, this is a particularly sensitive area for breast cancer sufferers, and some may not have theirs to show off anymore. Tact is more important that making a fashion statement, is it not?
