Luckily we are having great weather so far this summer and it seems to be lasting. Therefore sexy legs deserve to be seen. Ditch the leggings and tights altogether and show off those legs, it’s too hot to keep them covered anyway. If you have been hard at work and haven’t had time to enjoy the sun at the beach/park yet, so haven’t yet got nice tanned legs, that’s no excuse not to show them off. Why not reach for a bottle of self tanning lotion? For a natural glow, try Clarins self tanning instant gel. Though it is known to have a funny odor (most spray tans or tanning lotions have a certain smell due to a chemical called dihydroxyaceton, aka DHA or glycerone), this self tanner gives your skin a natural day-at-beach radiance.

Are you wearing Clogs yet?
Clogs are clearly the “it” shoe right now. Better yet, there is no better shoe to effortlessly take you from summer into the autumn and winter months. We at herfashioneye think clogs are great, especially since they are so versatile.

Since clogs are quirky and fun, why not style your outfit that way, too? Play with the fabrics and patterns and don’t be afraid to mix and match. Try wearing a layered skirt, socks, and funky accessories like floral sunglasses. On weekends they go great with a pair of skinny jeans and t-shirt.

How to Wear a Little Red Dress
A lot of people struggle with wearing red. It’s easier to wear more subtle colours and to not stick out in a crowd. Sometimes, though, a little bit of colour in our wardrobe doesn’t harm. Lately we have seen more and more celebrities wearing a little red dress on the red carpet so we thought it time to give some styling tips on how to wear it:

1. Keep it neutral.
Pair your little red dress with nude pumps for a sleek, summery look that is fresh and polished (see picture). Acutally you will notice that this combination is often chosen if you pay attention. Of course, a pair Louboutins always work, but I think there are much more affordable aternatives that look just as stunning.
2. Keep it simple.
Don’t go overboard with accessories. Actually you wouldn’t need any accessories at all and let the dress speak for itself. If you want to wear jewellery, try a statement necklace or large pair of dangly earrings. Keep it simple and pick one piece only .
3. Keep it young.
Great news: to look great you don’t need a fancy hair do, just wear your hair down. Long locks (slightly tousled) are what makes this look work. We think the beach-ier the better. Save the fancy up-dos for the holiday parties.
How To Wear Shorts At Work
If your place of employment doesn’t enforce a strict dress code policy, a pair of satin shorts like these Diane von Furstenberg satin shorts might be the perfect summerly outfit. In autumn they can be worn with black opaque tights underneath and make a perfect alternative to a skirt or trouser pants. To keep your ensemble work-appropriate, tuck a nice blouse into your shorts and pull on a cropped vest. Or, polish off your outfit with a structured blazer. Boots will work just fine for business wear, but for that extra edge pump it up with suede peep toe booties.

The Maxi-Dress: Keeping Cool in Summer
The sexy Maxi-Dress is back again for another Summer. Long, swish and super comfortable, the maxi-dress has been a long time in hitting the high street. Long dresses such as these are very practical indeed - us ladies can last a few days before we have worry about releasing the razor from it’s hiding place in the bathroom cabinet. Gone are those long summer days when we spend hours plucking, shaving and waxing.
With this style of dress falling down to the ankles, it actually elongates the body and can make even the shortest of women appear to add a couple of inches. A casual strapless maxi-dress works great as a summer evening outfit and covers any last minute binge-bumps underneath the smooth fabric. Team it with a cute clutch and some flat sandals and you’ll be fighting them off.
The perfect maxi can be hard to find, however. The latest style, made of jersey, may not be for everyone as this may often accentuate those parts of the body you want to draw eyes away from.. If you see a gorgeous dress on someone in the street, don’t be afraid to stop them and ask where they bought it. I’m sure they’ll be only too flattered to share.
Maxi-dresses first made an appearance a couple of years ago when stylists like Sass and Bide or Stella McCartney brought them out onto the catwalks. These were not dresses the average lady could afford. Now, however, many high street stores offer good quality, not unreasonably priced, maxi-dresses. So you have no excuse.
S stands for Surf beach bags
Today I want to look at the most summery of bags – those by brands like Quicksilver, Roxy, Billabong, Rip Curl and Da Kine that stand for the “life is a beach” approach to life – the commercial way. Surfing has seen a great increase in popularity over the last few years and with it surf culture and surfwear including surfy beach bags.
Surfwear is a popular style of casual clothing, inspired by surf culture. Many surf related brand-names originated as cottage industry, supplying local surfers with boardshorts, Ugg boots, wetsuits, surfboards or leashes and of course backpacks and even handbags too. Today, its popularity extends so far beyond the surfing community, that some of its most high profile brands are listed on the Stock Exchange. These companies gain exposure through sponsoring professional surfers and the contests in which they compete.
What I love about beach bags is, that they can accommodate all your things when going to beach, but can also be used as a travel bag. Because of their colourful design, they also brighten up your look when using it for going to the gym. Even if your not on holidays these bags can used for the casual summer look throughout the summer.
Handbags from Vivienne Westwood
It has been some time since I have looked at an individual handbag designer. Today I want to have a look at one of the most exciting designers in the history of London – namely Vivienne West wood. Now as is to be expected, Vivienne Westwood handbags are not made for someone with a small purse. So if your purse is not massive – like mine – you will have to stick with one of her perfumes like Boudoir, which is a firm winter evening favourite of mine.
Same as the Boudoir flacon, many of Vivienne’s Bags have her very visual and individual label on them – the large golden Orb that any fashionista will instantly recognise. Another one of her trademarks is the unmistakable tartan pattern, she uses on her handbags and the bowling bag shape combined with funky design.
As many of you will already know, Vivienne Westwood started her career in fashion and therefore her first steps in handbag design together with Malcolm McLaren of the Sex Pistols when they founded the so-called SEX boutique on Kings Road in Chelsea in 1970. Another fact that you might not know is that her real name is Vivienne Isabel Swire. Westwood does sound better!
Beach Bags
I don’t know about you guys, but for me with the arrival of the lovely sunny summer weather that we have experienced here in London in the last two weeks I am really ready for a beach holiday. With my handbag bigger than ever before, I have got used to a lifestyle where I always carry all my essentials with me – including some water, a novel, my mp3 player and a bag full pf make-up that could transform a whole theatre-troupe if necessary.
When you go to the beach there is even more stuff to bring – especially if you are planning on catching some rays of sunshine you should bring some sun-tan lotion – you will obviously need a towel to lie on and dry yourself etc…
Obviously the bag to carry all this should be big – but what do you want it to look like? For me, stripey bags are the hit – I love them.
The black transparent handbag and the pink transparent handbags are the same design – in different colours. Whichever colour you prefer, they have the advantage that your wet stuff will not drip on the way home! Striped Beach Bag
Next up on the right is this multi-coloured stripey bag that would also look good in the city: Striped Aztec Beach Bag at an unbelievable £8.
The red and white striped Kipling Latina swim bag will also be handy for trips to the gym and it does come with a towel!
This maritime looking bag could look easily old fashioned so you will have to carry it off with other accessories. Can you do it? Star Beach Ladies Bag - £3.95!
This pretty bag looks expensive and the reason for that is that it is not quite as cheap as the last one: Gravis Hampton Jellyfish Shopper.
The next two bags are again the same model but in different colours. Both are very pretty but a mouthful: Saldarini Oprah Espabag Large Curved Shoulder for £53!
Head to Toe Denim
Remember the 80s? Well those white-washed jeans combined with an equally bleached denim jacket can stay safely tucked away in your memory!
Thankfully the head to toe denim trend is taking more of a shophisticated stance in 2010 and if you’ve been paying attention to the shop windows recently you can’t miss it. A dark, lightweight denim fabric adds a note of refinement to an otherwise fairly casual look. Boring? Not at all. It doesn’t always have to match and actually it shouldn’t. Part of the fun of this trend is mixing different shades of blue; once a big fashion faux pas but now all the range. Add another layer of intrigue to your outfit by combining different styles as well. A sharp blazer with a pair of heavily distressed jeans?
You’re good to go!
